Polycarbonate is a superb material for microwave cookware. It is tough, non-stick, odour resistant and non-staining. Unlike glass and ceramics, it is almost completely transparent to microwaves and therefore food cooks faster and more evenly. As it has an extremely low thermal conductivity, it also stays much cooler than glass and ceramics.
